Kay in the U.S. Premiere of The Night Watch at The Gamm Theatre

TheNightWatch_TheGammTheatre_001.jpg

“Among a uniformly excellent cast, Gordon as Kay brilliantly employs subtle nuance to portray a quiet hero for whom things have gone tragically wrong, but not tragically enough relative to many others in her experience that she suffers from a kind of survivor’s guilt.” - Michael Bilow, Motif Magazine

“The collective talent of this cast of eight is impressive, but as a linchpin of sorts, Gillian Mariner Gordon’s performance is flawlessly authentic and quietly moving.” Katie Raleigh, Pawtucket Times

“The characterizations are richly textured and the performances are strong across the board. Gordon is simply magnificent, imbuing Kay with tremendous reserves of strength and compassion. “ - Joe Siegel, Edge Providence

“Gillian Mariner Gordon, who plays Kay, is riveting, whether she is tugging at your heartstrings while mourning her lost love or going out in an ambulance after an air raid with as much gumption as a front-line soldier. Her monologue, delivered from a bare-bones ambulance at the end of the second act, is spine-chilling.” - Kimberly Rao, WPRO

Clipped in the world premiere of DARK ROOM at Bridge Repertory Theater

“The cast of 22 women — with one nonspeaking male performer nightly — breathes life into the characters, as well as pushing Boston theater’s year-end stats on gender balance in the right direction…The climax rests on Gillian Mariner Gordon, who’s searingly sad as an angel who sacrifices her wings for naught.” - Joel Brown, The Boston Globe

Julie in the world premiere of COLLEGE COLORS at Crossroads Theatre Company

collegecolors-9576-WilliamMBrown.jpg

"The show's five-person cast is absolutely ideal in their roles bringing the audience right into the college scene...College Colors is an original gem of a show, a richly rewarding piece of theatre for metropolitan area audiences" - Marina Kennedy, BroadwayWorld.com

"Gillian Mariner Gordon is Julie, a lass who talks so incessantly that she must have not only kissed the Blarney Stone but also hugged and caressed it, too. Julie should be glad she’s not a centipede, for she does poorly with the two feet she has; she is either verbally shooting herself in one foot when she’s not putting the other one in her mouth. And yet, Gordon and Lents make us have sympathy for Julie’s naïveté and stupidity" - Peter Filichia, Broadway Select

Melody in BAD JEWS at SpeakEasy Stage Company

Melody-Liam-Arrive-2-1024x705.jpg

"There’s no denying McCartan and Shopov deliver extraordinary performances. But it wouldn’t work without the stellar, understated excellence of Marz (Jonah) and Gordon, whose side-splitting rendition of “Summertime” even made her fellow actors laugh at this performance." -  Nick Dussault, Metro

"As Melody Gillian Mariner Gordon may have the hardest role - the outsider that appears to have walked out of a Woody Allen nightmare (think Thanksgiving and "Annie Hall"). She has the play's most vulnerable moment: singing "Summertime" without irony to Daphna's savage amusement; but beneath her Wonder Bread exterior is Harmon's moral voice. The lack of civility shocks her, as it does the audience, who laugh at the scathing invectives hurled back and forth. But it also leaves them thinking, which is likely Harmon's goal with this spirited, hilarious and incisive comedy." - Robert Nesti, Edge Boston

"Meanwhile Gillian Mariner Gordon etches an appealing cameo as the empty, gentle Melody (and her subtle parody of second-rate vocal technique is a cringe-worthy pleasure)." - Thomas Garvey, The Hub Review

"As [Liam's] girlfriend, Gordon seamlessly moves the sweet and sincere Melody from naively approachable to alert and appalled as the character gets a closer look at Liam’s family." - R. Scott Reedy, The MetroWest Daily News

Kathy Selden in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN at Reagle Music Theatre

Singin_in_the_Rain.jpg

"Gordon and Tolve were the standout performers Sunday, giving nuance to the conflicted Kathy and the ever-energetic Cosmo." - Joel Brown, The Boston Globe

"Like her role as ingenue Kathy Selden, Gillian Mariner Gordon, 21, of Charlestown, is a rising star. Her voice is lovely, her dancing and acting memorable. Gordon and her talented singer-dancer co-star, Sean Quinn, portraying Don Lockwood, create charming romantic chemistry together with their prolonged kisses, blended voices and synchronized dance steps in duets" - Sheila Barth, The Theater Mirror

"Gordon has a bright future in the arts, performing into our hearts with graceful dancing, soaring vocals, and smart acting as Kathy Selden." - Brian Balduzzi, My Entertainment World

"Gordon’s lovely voice and stage presence have shown themselves in previous RMT productions, but this is a break-out role alongside other solid professionals." - Rich Fahey, On Boston Stages
